Greece

National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the most prestigious and most competitive academic institution for technical education in Greece. NTUA will participate in the project through the Decision Support Systems Laboratory (DSSLab), a multidisciplinary scientific unit within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

DSSLab conducts research and development, scientific/technical support and training activities addressing a wide range of complex research and application problems. Latvia

The Latvian Environmental Investment Fund("the Fund") was established on April 28th, 1997. The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Latvia owns 100% of the Fund’s shares. Since February 5th, 2004 the Fund has implemented quality management system of its operations in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standard.

The Mission of the Fund is to reduce environmental pollution, promoting the implementation of environmental protection projects and also to increase the capacity of municipalities and commercial organizations in preparation and carrying out of qualitative and effective projects from their idea to realization. The Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy (IEECP) is a non-for-profit, independent research institute working, since 2015, on science-based climate change mitigation, energy efficiency and renewable energy policy, with an international interdisciplinary team of experts generating and disseminating scientific knowledge.

We act as a knowledge-hub sharing pragmatic results as well as innovative ideas providing policymakers, and all private and public decision-makers, independent expertise and science-based research to support their work towards the energy transition and a sustainable future.

IEECP has a rich experience in managing EU, climate action and energy transition projects – predominantly Horizon 2020-funded-, as coordinator or partner, engaging stakeholders, drafting policy syntheses and recommendations, evaluating policies, analysing data and statistics as well as developing tools, libraries, capacity building and learning programmes.

The Institute for Legal Informatics has existed for over 35 years at the Faculty of Law of Leibniz Universität Hannover. There the Institute has established itself as the first academic institution in the field of IT law and intellectual property law in Germany.

The objective of the Institute for Legal Informatics is to conduct research and teaching on current, future-oriented issues raised by information technologies, especially in the areas of data protection, intellectual property, electronic commerce and international law. A further focus is on the legal theoretical questions that arise in connection with information technology law.

The Information and Communication Technology Centre Foundation (CTIC) was set up on 5th December 2003 as a private non-profit foundational organization, of a cultural, social and educational nature.

It is officially inscribed in the Register of Educational and Cultural Foundations of the Principality of Asturias as of 9th January 2004, with the number 33/FDC008.
It is registered as a Technology Centre in the Technology Centres and Technological Innovation Support Centres Register, under Resolution No. 94 of 23rd November 2011 of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, conformed to the Royal Decree 2093/2008 of 20th December, being part of the Technology Centres Network of the Principality of Asturias.

OKTAVE, is the name of the integrated service for energy renovation of housing, initiated by the Grand EST region and ADEME in 2015, This service was set up to meet the requirements of the Energy Transition Law for Growth Verte (LTECV), a law that requires having a building stock that meets BBC standards by 2050. On the scale of the Grand Est region, this represents more than 38,000 renovations per year to be carried out.

To contribute effectively to achieving the objectives set by the LTECV, OKTAVE was incorporated as a mixed economy company in July 2018, with shareholders as: The Grand Est Region, Procivis Alsace (representing the SACICAP* of the Grand Est), the Banque des Territories (CDC) and Caisse d'Epargne Grand Est Europe.

SEM OKTAVE is financially supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and works in close collaboration with ADEME.

On June 28, 2000, the Nalón Energy Agency Foundation (ENERNALÓN) was established, a technical and socio-economic non-profit entity with its own legal personality and autonomous assets, subject to the Protectorate of the Principality of Asturias, according to the current legislation.

Its object and purpose is the promotion of energy saving and renewable energies within the current trends of reducing CO2 emissions to prevent climate change and improve the environment.

Poland

Plus48 group has been operating since 2006. The company deals with broadly understood design and architectural activities. In the area of this activity, work is carried out for individual clients: single-family house designs, residential interior designs, furniture and everyday equipment. It also conducts multi-discipline research for institutional clients, covering both interior design and residential or public buildings.

The core of the group is architects, graduates of the Faculty of Architecture of Warsaw University of Technology: Agata Filipek, Karol Szparkowski, Kamil Miklaszewski. The permanent collaborator of the team is prof. Zygmunt Szparkowski, a longtime researcher at the Faculty of Architecture of the Warsaw University of Technology. In addition, the design team constantly collaborates with industry specialists from the installation and construction industries.

Portugal

Just a Change is a non-profit association dedicated to rebuilding homes for those living in Housing Poverty. Renovating homes, Rebuilding Lives!

Since 2010, Just a Change has already renovated more than 350 houses, impacting more than 730 people, mobilizing more than 7000 volunteers to rebuild these houses and more than 100 other social organizations.

Lacking proper living conditions is one of the most devastating types of poverty as it affects all aspects of life: emotional, educational, and professional development, increasing health risks and causing social seclusion. The targeted houses are usually poorly structured, lacking all basic conditions. Just a Change's renovation work provides better quality of life, safety, and better health. By working with volunteers and involving the families that live in these houses on the renovation work, Just a Change intends to extend the project's impact bringing beneficiary and volunteers hope and self-realization. 

This project also impacts society: upgrading living conditions of the population is a way to reduce poverty and criminality and to improve Public Health and Energy Efficiency, but also by multiplying hope and happiness.
Slovakia

(APES-SK) is an Interest Association of legal entities, which was established with the aim of supporting the use of Energy Performance Contracting in the Slovak Republic in order to strengthen the rational use of limited energy resources. APES-SK was officially registered on August 25, 2014 and currently has 14 members.

The creation of APES-SK was motivated by the need for a coordinated approach of market actors in connection with the following factors shaping the potential for the use of EPC:

  • Increased interest on the demand side

The interest is primarily motivated by the effort to reduce costs related to energy consumption in connection with the generally poor technical condition of public buildings. Increased demand can therefore be expected especially after complex building renovations.

  • Changes to the regulatory framework

These result primarily from the adoption of the new European directive on energy efficiency (Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on energy efficiency) and its subsequent transposition into Slovak legislation.

  • Preparation of the new program period for drawing EU structural funds for the years 2014-2020.

A significant part of the funds allocated for the Slovak Republic will be used for the area of increasing the energy efficiency of public buildings. At the same time, it is necessary to achieve a set amount of energy consumption savings in the area. The use of energy services (and especially EPC) is considered by the European Commission to be an ideal tool for the real achievement of the set goals.

  • Interest of financial institutions in financing projects in the public sector

The relatively healthy financial sector of the Slovak Republic is interested in placing free funds in projects with a reasonable level of risk. The public sector, or the projects realized in it provide such a level of risk. On the other hand, financial institutions have little information about the specifics of projects where the benefits are cost savings (rather than real sales).
Slovakia

Energetické centrum Bratislava was founded in 1992. It is an independent non-profit non-governmental organization and its main mission is to promote and support the rational use of energy. It focused on increasing energy efficiency in both the public and private sectors. The company’s activities focus on increasing energy efficiency and rational use of renewable energy sources. It works for both the public and private sectors. It is a part of international teams and work for international financial institutions and it shares experience and knowledge from international cooperation in cooperation with Slovak professional institutions.

ECN also helps implement European energy and environmental policies in Slovakia. It cooperates with municipalities on the preparation and implementation of energy concepts and support the use of energy services in the public sector (so-called Energy Performance Contracting).

The General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems (G.G.P.S.D.D.), of the Ministry of Digital Governance, is a strong technological pillar with the mission of optimal utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in wider Public Administration, with the aim of the digital transformation of the State and the provision of secure and efficient electronic services to citizens and businesses.

Its mission is the utilization of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) with the design, development and production operation of IT applications both for the Services of the Ministry of Digital Governance and the wider Public Administration.
Greece

The objective of the Society for Hellenism and Philhellenism is to study, highlight and promote Hellenic culture and the philhellenic wave from antiquity to the present day.

The Society will place particular emphasis on the processes that took place in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, which laid the foundations for the establishment of the modern Greek state. It will emphasize the importance of the Hellenic culture as one of the cornerstones of Western civilization, and will promote the continuation of its study and dissemination internationally, supporting contemporary philhellenic movements.

The Society will also promote Hellenic culture and cultural education in Greece and internationally, as well as the improvement of the understanding among peoples in the spirit of the tradition of ancient Amphictyony.

The Society will highlight the uniqueness of the Philhellenic movement arising from the global influence of the Hellenic Culture, presenting, inter alia, permanent or periodical exhibitions of objects on the evolution of the Hellenic civilization, on the impact it had internationally, on the creation of the Modern Greek state, on philhellenism, and other directly or indirectly related subjects.
Latvia

The Góra Kalwaria municipality is located in the center of Poland, in the masovian region, 19 kilometers south of Warsaw. It consists of the city of Góra Kalwaria and 38 villages. The area ofour commune is 145 km2. 27,000 people live here.

The Góra Kalwaria municipality is a convenient place for living and investing. Its undoubted advantage is its location near the capital of Poland (the distance from the Warsaw Okęcie airport is 30 km). Its also situated on the longest of Polish rivers, the Vistula.

Góra Kalwaria has had a swimming pool with a sports and recreation section for 23 years. It requires modernization, how is also a response to the challenges of the present - the swimming pool must reduce the consumption of increasingly expensive electricity and heat. The Góra Kalwaria municipality is also investing heavily in energy-saving street lighting and heating of public buildings.
