24 October 2024 9:30 – 13:00

TheSmart Energy Cluster encompasses a diverse set of projects dedicated to driving the energy transition through innovative technologies and community engagement. Under this umbrella, 7 pioneering projects—InEExS, DEDALUS, EU-MORE, FORTESIE, RESONANCE, DigiBUILD, and ReSCHOOL—came together to host a session on October 24th from 9:30 until 13:00 in Milan under the framework of EnLit Europe.

Each project contributes uniquely to the overarching goal of improving energy efficiency and sustainability. For instance, FORTESIEand InEExSare leveraging blockchain to enhance transparency and reliability in energy transactions, while DigiBUILDfocuses on data-driven decision-making, using enhanced data management tools to improve building renovation processes along with RESONANCEthat focuses on energy flexibility and smart grid integration, aiming to improve urban energy management and resilience. DEDALUS, on the other hand, concentrates on how demand response and ICT can help manage energy consumption in residential buildings, optimizing energy use during peak demand times. EU-MORE is developing innovative financial models to overcome investment barriers, facilitating deep renovation and energy efficiency projects in buildings and industrial processes. ReSCHOOL, meanwhile, focuses on the creation of energy communities and educational initiatives, empowering citizens and schools to actively participate in sustainable energy management.

The scope of the event is to bring together the various innovations and solutions developed across these projects to explore how they can accelerate the energy transition in Europe. By uniting the expertise of each project, the event aims to discuss key topics such as integrating advanced digital technologies like blockchain, AI, and big data into energy services, overcoming financial, technical and regulatory and behavioural barriers to energy efficiency, and fostering collaboration across sectors to enable scalable and replicable energy solutions and more.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on how these projects are addressing the critical challenges of reducing energy consumption, improving building renovations, and creating resilient energy systems. Through knowledge sharing and collaboration, the event seeks to create a platform for stakeholders to explore how to better integrate technology, finance, and community engagement to achieve the EU’s ambitious energy efficiency and climate goals.
